Everyone’s skin deserves the perfect treatment to keep it clean and hydrated, but if you are like me and have fussy skin, what products are worth purchasing?
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some of my most beloved beauty and cosmetic products with you! All are affordable, all work wonderfully, and all are absolute staples in my stock.
These come highly recommended, straight from the Lioness’ mouth.
For those of us that are cost-conscious (and who isn’t?), I’m rating these products with the following scale:
$: Under $10
$$: $10-$25
$$$: $25-$50
$$$$: Over $50
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash: For those of us that have what I call “temperamental” combination skin, finding the right daily facial cleanser can be pretty difficult. In my case, traditional sensitive skin cleansers don’t get out all the oil, nor do they make my face feel clean. Traditional combination skin face washes either dry my face out or makes it itch. After it was suggested to me by one of their salespeople to try The Body Shop’s Tea Tree line, nothing else evens or calms my skin out the way this does. That’s why I have sworn by this (as well as the Squeaky-Clean Exfoliating Face Scrub) for over 15 years. To sweeten the pot, The Body Shop’s entire line of Tea Tree products features free trade Tea Tree oil sustainably sourced from Kenya; the perfect ingredient to purify skin beautifully.

Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash and Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion: While I have a penchant for scented lotions and perfumes, I find that when it comes to body wash, a fragrance-free formula is the best way to go and I mostly use unscented shower gels. In addition, every summer I develop heat rash, so when that time comes, I try to avoid scented body washes and lotions completely. While there are plenty of fragrance- free body care options out there, for those who do have sensitive or itchy skin, you might want to try Aveeno’s line of products, many of which contain collodial oatmeal, which is known for its soothing properties.
While Aveeno is the most popular brand that offers these types of products, if you need to save some pennies, check out Walmart house brand Equate and Target house brand Up and Up for similar items.
